Description
We are currently recruiting non-residential Teachers.
Classes have a maximum size of 15 students (12 in Canterbury) and will range from beginner to advanced level. Lessons will be based on modern mainstream course books and supplemented with resources used by St. Giles International in its main schools.
The minimum non-residential teaching/supervisory contract comprises twenty 50 minute lessons each week over 5 mornings or afternoons plus 1.3 hours preparation/meeting time. The standard contract has an additional 19 hours of non-teaching/supervisory duties each week, this includes excursions, activities and residential duties,
There may be variations on this format with teachers undertaking additional teaching or non-teaching/supervisory duties as available on either a regular or occasional basis and by agreement with the Centre Manager. All work is paid at £13.03 per 50 minute lesson and £6.40 per hour for non-teaching duties.
When classes are held in both the morning and afternoon, teachers can agree to increase the teaching component and reduce the non-teaching component to maximise earnings.
Requirements
Applicants should be: CELTA, Trinity TESOL or B.Ed (with languages) qualified teachers. Other qualifications meeting British Council recognised junior course standards will also be considered.
Experience of teaching juniors on a residential course would be beneficial but enthusiasm, motivation and being part of a team are just as important.
We welcome teachers who are only available for shorter work periods starting at the end of June or the beginning of July.
