We are currently recruiting fun, enthusiastic, friendly people to serve as Welfare and Accomodation Manager's in our summer language centres.
The Welfare and Accommodation Manager’s primary responsibility is the overall care for students; ensuring they are safe, secure, happy and disciplined. The WAM must supervise other staff in night duties from 10pm to 1am four nights a week. The role is a Senior Management position and as such the WAM is expected to fulfill a demanding workload.
Key Responsibilities:
* To help set up the centre prior to student arrival
* To carry out pre-arrival and departure checks
* To carry out a night duty on a rota basis and supervise other staff on duty.
* To help with student discipline within their residence, liaising with the management team to report all damage incidences and serious incidences
* To provide integration support for students traveling as Individuals
* To ensure the school fire and safety procedures are displayed and adhered to
* To ensure students are adjusting to cultural differences and that their religious and dietary needs are met and respected
* To Provide orientation meetings for new students
* To deal quickly and efficiently with any complaints or issues relating to accommodation
* To ensure room lists are accurate and regular fire drills undertaken
* To report maintenance issues to staff and ensure the cleanliness of the residences is maintained to the standards of the school
* To co-ordinate all transfers for student arrival and departures (coaches / taxis / minibus), by liaising regularly with HO staff
* To ensure that Ardmore Language School Health & Safety policies are implemented and adhered to at all times
* To support the Centre Director in the overall management of the centre

Personal Specification
Essential:
* Previous summer school experience, ideally in a residential position
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to ‘think on feet’ and adapt quickly to change
* Enjoy working with children and teenagers
Recommended:
* Previous house supervisor / welfare work experience
* First Aid certificate |
