All CAE staff are residential and contribute to the academic, social and pastoral well- being of the students. All staff are involved on the excursion programme and assist with airport transfers. All staff join a full Staff induction and to contribute to the CAE feedback systems. Each member of staff is given an area of special responsibility on the course in line with their experience and interest and as defined by the needs of the course. All staff work a 6-day working week and are entitled to a 24 hour period of leave per week.

Social Activity Teachers and Assistants are responsible for planning and delivery of the afternoon and evening activities, and excursions. Assistants provide support to the Social Activity team and to the Senior Staff. All staff are accommodated in the boarding houses, assist with pastoral duties and contribute to the spirit of the house.

House parents are responsible for the house supervision and student discipline and work closely with the Course Director to manage effective procedures for student welfare. House Parents plan and supervise afternoon and evening activities and accompany students on excursions.

CAE staff act “in loco parentis” and are expected to display an enthusiastic professional, mature and responsible attitude to working with children.
