    £2988 for the duration of the 5 week course + 12.07% holiday pay + £120 for attending the 3 day induction + Accommodation.


We are currently seeking a Director of Studies to join us at International House, Oxford & Ellesmere, Shropshire this summer.

Responsibilities include:
  • To be responsible for the testing and placing of students
  • Ensure student discipline in classes as appropriate
  • Ensure the provision of sound academic advice, support and feedback to students
  • Induct and manage EFL teachers
  • Carry out in-service training sessions where appropriate
  • Carry out observations of EFL staff and provide written feedback to the individual teachers and provide a copy of this written feedback to IH London
  • Provide support and advice for EFL teachers as necessary
  • Write staff reports on all members of staff and provide a copy of these to reports to IH London
  • Liaise with other members of the senior staff team to provide a meaningful and academic visit to the chosen destination
  • Manage and set up academic resources
  • Provide cover supervision where necessary
  • Participate in the social and pastoral elements of the programme where necessary
  • Deal with student and staff issues and emergencies as and when necessary
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children in your care
  • Deputise for the Centre Manager and be on call as required


  • Degree or equivalent
  • Trinity or Cambridge DELTA
  • Trinity TESOL or Cambridge CELTA certificate
  • Experience of teaching children
  • Academic Management
  • People Management
  • Residential Experience
  • Experience of working with foreign students
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a client focused approach
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Confidence to take initiative and work autonomously
  • Commitment to providing a quality service to clients
  • Satisfactory CRB check
