Description

Join our Summer School team as an EFL teacher English to teach foreign young learner students and lead activities, excursions, transfers and registration as required by line management.  
 
The role of Summer School Teacher is one of responsibility, directly concerned with the education and welfare of overseas under-18 year old students. This requires the post-holder to engage in all aspects of summer school work as directed by the Director of Studies, Leisure management  and Centre Manager.  
 
The ideal Teacher will be fun, enthusiastic, outgoing and have a high level of responsibility and authority and be more than capable of providing interesting and involving lessons for Young Learners. 

LAL use our own course book, written and designed by our academic staff across the globe to help our teachers provide unforgettable lessons. These course book-based lessons will form the basis of the syllabus but it is the teacher’s responsibility to bring them to life by adapting them to suit the needs of the individual students. The teacher is responsible for motivating and engaging the students in additional project lessons, which will be based on excursions.  
 
We are serious about safeguarding and we have procedures and policies in place to ensure the smooth running of Summer Schools. All our staff are subject to suitability checks prior to working for us. 

Your normal hours of work are 48 per week over a six day week. You may be required to work additional hours when requested to meet the needs of the business. This position involves working on weekends and other unsocial hours.

Requirements

The ideal EFL Teacher will be fun, energetic, outgoing and have a high level of responsibility and authority and be more than capable of providing interesting and involving lessons for Young Learners.

Essential
  • Educated to degree level or NQF level 6 or equivalent 
  • Current Cambridge CELTA/Trinity TESOL Certificate, PGCE or equivalent 
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English (CEFR  C1 minimum, e.g. CAE/IELTS 7-8) 
  • Experience with and a responsible approach to working with young learners 
  • Satisfactory DBS disclosure or equivalent
