Description

We are now recruiting for an EFL Teacher to join us at International House, Oxford & Ellesmere, Shropshire this summer.

Responsibilities include:
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons to foreign students on residential programmes for IH Oxford, these lessons are to be project based
  • Set, evaluate and mark students’ work and give constructive feedback
  • Administer and mark placement tests along with other EFL teachers, the Director of Studies and Assistant Director of Studies
  • Induct students appropriately and provide them with a tour of site
  • Supervise student behaviour and attendance
  • Develop academic materials and resources
  • Give feedback to the Director of Studies and Assistant Director of Studies on resources, external visit destinations, and other materials
  • Accompany students on external visits and ensure they complete their worksheets and are safe at all times
  • Attend or deliver INSET sessions as required
  • Organise/supervise sports and social activities as required by the Director of Out of Class Activities, ensuring the safety and welfare of students at all times
  • Carry out pastoral duties as required by the House Supervisors and Director of Student Services
  • Carry out duties associated with the transfer of students on arrival and departure days as required by the Director of Student Services
  • Encourage students to actively take part in all aspects of a young learner programme
  • Deal with student issues/emergencies as required
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children in your care

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Trinity TESOL or Cambridge CELTA certificate
  • Experienced ELT professional
  • Young learner teaching experience
  • Experience of planning lessons and making own materials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a client focused approach
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Confidence to take initiative and work autonomously
  • Commitment to providing a quality service to clients
  • Satisfactory DBS check

Desirable

  • Trinity, Cambridge DELTA or PGCE
  • Residential Experience 
  • First Aid qualified
